Villa |
Last I write we were heading to Florence to pick up our car. We decided
to pick
It up at the airport as I read it was much easier. It was after a bus
ride to the airport then shuttle to the rental place. We picked up our 2
vehicles and away we went to our villa.
About an hour and half later we arrived to our beautiful villa. About 150
years old it was originally a brick furnace! Now it's been converted to
a beautiful 4 bed 6 bath villa with 40' long inground pool out back.
Very beautiful and comfy for the 7 of us!

Montepulicanio |
Our first day - Sunday we went to Montepulicanio for the day. Finally
finding a place to park at the top of the town we wandered through the streets
admiring the amazing history and architecture. Beautiful place!
After a few hours we then headed to a small town called Penzia. A
nice small town to wander through and again a ton of pictures! Early
evening we headed back to our villa and then into town for a bite at a local
little restaurant. Gret food and superb service by our ultra friendly waitress
who had so much patience with us! Lol

Pisa |
Monday we got up early and hit the road for a 2 hour trip to Pisa. A bit
is a crazy drive drive but thank go for google maps! Seriously!
Better routing than the gps sometimes and free!
Pisa was amazing. You really don't understand how beautiful the tower is until
you arrive there and see it for yourself. Wow is all I can say!
Michael and Larissa climbed the tower while the rest of us split up and
toured the town. We tried for tickets for the cathedral but we could
into get in at 6:30 so we decided not to do since it was noon when we tried to
buy them. Pisa was beautiful especially when you got away from the
crowds and main attractions.
After a few hours we headed to Lovina however didn't stay long as most of the
city was closed due to a national holiday.
Our trip home was a but of an adventure. A little lost but finally arrive back
at the villa around midnight. Not fun driving those dark windy Tuscan
roads at night but we made it.

Siena |
Tuesday we headed to Siena. Beautiful and lots of photo opportunities
that's for sure. Best part is it was only about 45 minutes from the
villa. We spend most of the day there wandering the streets and eating
gelato.

Monteriggioni |
Wednesday we went to a small walled town dating back to 1413. Amazing!
So beautiful. It rained a bit so we ducked in for a bite before deciding
to head to some wineries. What an adventure THAT was! Where we
thought there were wineries there were not and then we got lost! In top
of this we had to be back by 5pm as our chef was arriving! Luckily Paul
was driving 1 car and found their way home first. We arrived about 5:30 but
all was good. Our chefs comments: no problem. It's Italy!
An axing meal with so much food we had left overs on Thursday night for ALL of
us!!! Antipasto consisting of about 8 different crostinis, meats etc. Pasta
was next - ghnocci with tomato sauce followed by our secondi- chicken cooked
in balsamic with a light tossed salad. And for dessert! Marscapone
mousse. OMG. Amazing! It was so nice to dine at home with 3 bottles of
wine and lots of great food! To bed we went for an early rise to
Florence on Thursday.
