Jimbaran

We left Uluwatu at about 11:00AM Saturday morning for a short drive to our final stop in Bali - Jimbaran. Here we rented a private villa with pool at Gending Kedis Luxury Villas and Spa - a deal we saw on Groupon Malaysia. What can I say - WOW! A beautiful 2 level villa - walking through the entry gate we approach our villa - upper floor consists of a large living area with bar, separate smaller bedroom and an en suite bath. Down a flight of stairs and there it is - our private infinity pool overlooking the jungle - nothing but trees and birds (and apparently monkeys but we haven't seen any yet). A huge open air kitchen over looking the pool is adjacent to the beautiful and HUGE master bedroom with ensuite. This villa is probably at least two times as big as out home in Toronto. The pool is beautiful - all natural stone lining with small boulders inside used as steps. And cool water so quite refreshing in this heat and humidity. Bathing suits have not seen the light of day :) On Saturday we decided just to laze around by the pool and relax. Lunch in the resort restaurant followed by a dip and nap.

Dinner last night was at one of the many restaurants on Jimbaran Beach. After doing our research on TripAdvisor we settled on Lia Cafe - great reviews and well priced. Our driver from the villa dropped us off and in we went. We were met by very friendly staff and initially seated at a table in the back - close to the entrance - however once someone sitting closer to the water left we changed tables. All along the beach you see candlelit tables with people eating fresh seafood - caughht everyday and sold at the local fish market down the beach. We settled into our spot and ordered our meal - Setting "A" which consisted of grilled prawn (8), fresh red snapper (.6kg), clams (8) and fresh grilled squid (.6kg). Included was a beer for me and soda water for Michael, salad, soup, sauces, vegetables and fruit for dessert - all this for $28.00!!! So cheap and good! We were very full at the end. A great meal. After relaxing to the sounds of the surf rolling ashore, we had our server call our driver who picked us up and brought us back. A quick dip into the pool, a little tv to relax and good night! Our plans for our last day included breakfast catered at the villa, a drive into Kuta for a massage at COZY (we don't have a booking so hopefully we can get in!)

And a private Balinese BBQ at our poolside tonight along with a nice bottle of Australian wine. I may never come home -
